The "To-Do Application in Magento 1" is exactly the entrance exam I give to all my junior applicants (zero Magento experience) to test their skill then I'd hire based on their attitude.

My goal for you here is to level up your skill level so you can get hired as a PHP, or even a Magento developer.

Since we will be writing Magento code, I'm assuming that you have PHP already installed in your local machine.

You'll need to install a fresh installation of Magento 1 in your local machine.

However, I know some of you might not have worked with PHP yet but stil want to participate. So I created a video on how you can setup your local development machine with Linux or Windows OS.

Although the training will be recorded, you will NOT receive a recording. This is to encourage people to actually attend.

I believe that if something important enough, we'll make time for it.

It's not designed for non-coders. You might be able to understand the topics we'll cover but you'll easily get lost if you don't have basic PHP development experience.

Here's the thing... If you can learn Magento 1, then it'll be much easier for you to learn Magento 2.

There are a few added complexities in Magento 2 and it'll be easier to understand them once you're able to work with Magento 1.

So it's not like you're losing something by learning Magento 1 first. It actually makes learning Magento 2 easier.
